I'm counting The Hours Now..

The day had come.. after been waiting for almost half a year for my vacation that we had planned, tomorrow is the day! 11 of us (myself, Zul Johan, Mashita, Yusnoor, Izat, Amir, Mas, Fuad & Roslan) will be flying to Bali tomorrow but Rahman & Acat is already there from 13th June.. then we'll meet them in Bali on 15th June.

Just can't wait to be there! I had planned to visit the Bali Art Festival, shopping, sightseeing and so on. Hope this time around, I'll be able to do what I really wanted to do in Bali. Not like the last time I was there, I only do my shopping, shopping & more shopping! (it's cheap there!).

I believe that I will definatey enjoy this holiday with my friends!!

My 8 Miserable Days..

Last Friday (15th May), right a day after our gathering in Rama V, I went to hospital to check on my cough.. I've been coughing the whole week like hell especially at night during sleep.

At first, they suspected me having a TB.. but after the doctor checked on my body x-tray, there was nothing. So, the doctor did the blood culture (mixing my blood with a few other medicine I think..) and later they found out that there was a virus in my lungs. Gosh, I was so scared and I'd never had any experience this kind of thing before!

Then the doctor told me that I have to be admitted into the hospital on that day as I have to be treated with an antibiotic (injection into my body and not tablet form) and they have to monitor me from day to day. I was speechless.. don't know what to do. This is my first time admitted into the hospital.. I'm scared! Called my family and close friends to let them know and to help me to bring all my necessary things to the hospital.

At the end, I end-up staying the in the ward for 8 days until the doctor told me that I can now go home and rest. They will supply me with table form antibiotic and I have to make sure to take it daily right on time, twice daily (8.00am and 8.00pm without fail!). And the doctor had agreed with my plan for my holiday in Bali next month.. lucky me!

* sorry, I haven't got any pictures for this blog.. I was so miserable, lost weight and don't want myself to be captured in any picture! Got the picture?

Gathering..

Poh Ling text me the other day, inviting me for a dinner for my belated birthday. I was so excited.. it has been a while I haven't met her and really, really missed her. We had planed for a date a few times but it doesn't happen at all. Yeah, everybody had their life and work to do.. so, I can't blame anybody for this.

She told me to choose the place and let her know.. so, since doctor advised me not to eat raw food or half cook food, I was thinking about Thai restaurant. I always wanted to dine in Rama V restaurant but never have a chance.. so this is the chance for me.

Rama V outdoor deco and the appetizer (can't remember the name of this appetizer!)

Green Curry Beef and Asparagus Belacan

Fried Chicken In Pandan Leave and choices of dessert.

Since I always sent our guests to this restaurant, I had built a good relationship with the restaurant, so I made the reservation and asked them to fax me the menu. Told Poh Ling and she had invited Li Ling since she was in town.. really missed her, can't wait to meet both of them! So we invited a few other close friends, Annie, Allie, Zahir, Hazian, Dawina and not forgetting the famous Joe!

It was a great dinner, good food (we ordered a lot!), nice chat with everybody during the dinner and it was so much fun. I didn't believed that Li Ling and Poh Ling brought me a birthday gifts. Didn't expected it.. I never give them any birthday gift on their birthday.. so, I felt a bit guilty! Anyway, thanks a lot to both of you.. so kind of you guys. Hope we can organised more of this kind of gathering in future (kalau ada duit la!). At the end, the bill only cost RM400.00.. I guess they gave a us a very good discount!

Birthday gift from Poh Ling.. love the colour (never had one!)

Birthday gift from Li Ling.. souvenir from Amsterdam. Cute!

My Big Day.. (Was Not That Big Though!)

Everybody was wishing me happy birthday at workplace.. so, this is one of the good thing about Facebook when it alert everybody about your birthday. Next you know, you become a star of the day!

A few people also asking me why did I work on my birthday? Hmm.. do I have to announce to everybody if I'm taking or not holiday on my birthday?! What a boring question! But my answer is, 'Oh, I forgot that my birthday is coming.. so it's too late to apply leave!'.. the end!

At work, it was so damn boring.. occupancy is less than 40%, nothing to do, I'm damn cold under the strong aircond above my counter (I'm almost getting a fever!) and I coughed like hell! So, I'd asked for an hour to claim.. at least I'm save from all those things (as the above) that trying to kill me.

Right before I about to leave, Allie trying to stop me with a few chat at the back office.. then the back office was blackout! I was shocked at that time.. thinking if there is a power failure going on! Suddenly, out of nowhere, Mary, Mryna, Allie and Dawina appeared while singing me a birthday song.. and handed me a small chocolate birthday cake lite with candle!

I was touched.. almost cry.. didn't realised that there's people still think about me and remember my birthday. Gosh, I really love all my friends.. and lately, they've been very caring about me..

Anyway, I thank everybody for this speacial moment!

Dinner With Joe!

It has been almost or more than a year we have not met! Joe was in Kuala Lumpur for his university break and having holiday with his good friend, Anthony. While he was in Kuala Lumpur, right after he came back from holiday in Langkawi, before he leave to his hometown in Kota Bahru, Kelantan, he insist to meet me for dinner. How can resist that, I really missed Joe a lot!

Right after work at 8.00pm (working relief shift that day), I went straight to Hilton KL Sentral to meet Joe. After 5 minutes waiting at the hotel's lobby, Joe appeared. What an emotional moment we had that time.. hugging each other and we almost drop our tear.. we missed each other so much!! We been sharing a lot of good times while working together and that is what we really missed.

We went to the hotel poolside had a drink and snack (look at how they serves the satay.. weird!), chatting and sharing a lot of stories. Ooo.. I really missed Joe..!

Later, Anthony joined us for late dinner and we went to Sudu Restaurant had a light snacks and had a chat. This is my first time meeting Anthony.. he's a nice guy!

At 12.00am, we saying goodbye to each other. I have to work in the morning shift the next day and Joe probably have things of his own to settle before he go back to his hometown. It is really a meaningful moment for me to have met Joe again!

Firefly In Kuala Selangor..

Out of sudden, Zul Johan & Mashita recommend us to visit the Fireflies in Kuala Selangor and to have seafood dinner there as well. I don't really know why but I guess this is to say thank you for all our help during their house warming kenduri the other day.

Me, Rahman, Yusnor, Nita and Izad arrived at their place one day before the planned date to visit the Firefly. We had planned to stayed overnight in their place so that we will not rushing from Kuala Lumpur to their place and then to Kuala Selangor!

The day had arrived, we been traveling for about 45 minutes from Zul Johan & Mashita's place to Kuala Selangor. Our first stop is at Firefly Centre in Kampung Kuantan, but the place does not convincing us and futher more, their boat can only accommodate 4 persons per boat meanwhile we are 6 persons (Zul Johan can't make it, had a last minute dinner with his big boss!)

Then we proceed to the other point, Bukit Belimbing Firefly Park Resort which I think even better than the first one we went. They have a big boat that can accommodate all of us.. that is what we call fun! The experience watching the firefly is unbelievable! Just like you went to a Christmas light deco exhibition.. it was beautiful!!

I recond to whoever that has not been there, spare a time to visit and watch the firefly.. this creators does not exist in a lot of places in this world. So, appreciate it..

Earth Hour 2009.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming. For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

My workplace (Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur) as well participating in this year Earth Hour, we've been working in a minimum lights for the passed one hour today! It was fun and the best part is, no guests & no phone calls at all!.

Looking forward to join the Earth Hour again next year..
